Established in 2007 during the dawn of the econonic crash, against all odds, Pure Energy Cycling was born! In 10 years, we are among the top bicycle shops in the United States in our ability to service our amazing customers near and far, for bikes of all sizes and applications. Arounkone, Kyle, and Brett have mechanical and competitive experiece in Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, BMX, and Freestyle, resuling in years of professional competency.
As the only true professionally-experienced bike shop, Pure Energy Cycling created the top professional track racing program that produced over 50 National Championship medals and representation at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic games. In addition, Pure Energy Cycling started Fearless Femme Racing, as part of a movement to inspire women into cycling and to provide a fearless new vision for women’s competitive cycling across the globe. Since 2013, Fearless Femme Racing has won many of the top races in the US, and is the only team to have National Champions from four different countries race for them: United States, Australia, Switzerland, and Ireland! In 2018, Fearless Femme will be as strong as ever with racers of World Championship and Olympic pedigree!
In the community, Pure Energy Cycling created Pure Energy Velo (501c-3 Charitable organization) to provide community activism for cycling awareness, programs, and events. We hold community group rides that mentor riders on basic cycling skills all the way up to competitive level training. Pure Energy Velo has provided Boy Scout and corporate team building seminars for cycling. In 2015, Pure Energy Velo created HippoCross to re-energize the cyclocross race scene in the mid-Atlantic with a spotlight on youth cycling!
In 10 years, we have evolved through listening to our customers and desiring to learn more! More than a bicycle shop, Pure Energy Cycling hopes to connect the community with each other and be a hub of mental, physical, and spiritual health. We want to continue to Preserve Cycling Culture because Pure Energy is Pure Passion!
Custom Bicycles
Pure Energy Cycling and Java House is a full service bicycle shop emphasizing bicycle customization specific to the goals and physiology of each individual rider. Customization is not exclusive to building a bike to the measurement of a rider, but it can be as basic as taking a stock bicycle, and bringing out the custom value of that bicycle, based on the clients physical dimensions. Customers will play an active role in how their bike rides, feels, and looks.
Precision Bicycle Fit
Pure Energy mechanics are also bicycle fit specialists, trained to asses a precision fit, using Serotta cycle-fit fundamentals. Through a meticulous interview, on-trainer cycling session, and follow-up, we can diagnose the proper frame size or fine tune your current fitting.
